I've had the eXactMat for about 2 years now and I have to tell you the truth, it is worth every penny. The value for money that mouse 2 sided extremely TOUGH mouse pad delivers cannot be stressed enough. Optical or Laser, this mouse pad truly brings out the drawbacks of 500Hz polling mouse versus a 1000Hz polling in online FPS games (L4D,WaW,KF). You truly get an UNFAIR ADVANTAGE with this mouse pad.
Pros:
- 2 sided, added longevity
- extremely tough
- does not move at all
- lasted 2 years and still going
- UNFAIR ADVANTAGE, giving you the steadiest aiming to get the most FRAGS
Cons:
- Speed side wears off faster then the Control
- Dirt Magnet
- Might be a little big for some PC setups
- 30 bucks (hence not free with purchase of RAZER™ mouse :D)
- Other people in online FPS games will "anger" you with their aiming ability compared to yours

My brother bought this mat some time ago and he's very happy with it. You probably know all the advantages people have mentioned below, so i'll only point out the flaws:
- rubber feet can go off easily (but its not hard to glue them back on)
- the control side doesn't give enough friction imho, on some mice the control side is slicker than the speed side!
- because of metal used it can get really cold and hurt your wrists, it's good to have a warm room or heat it with your palm before you lay your hand down on it.
otherwise its a really great gaming pad!

The best thing ever in a mousemat is that its solid. I can place it anywhere, on my pillow, lap, couch or anywhere and still works.
The first downside is that it's very cold, i keep my room cool because when i play 2 games at the same time, my computer heats up the room by itself, but if you go to get something to eat and come back, the mousemat will freeze your wrist.
Another thing is that the rough surface wears off by time, it starts shining a grid pattern.
It also gets scratched pretty easily if someting gets under your mouse.
If something soft crap gets under your mouse, it will stick to the mousemat and is really hard to get off.
I got this like 2 years ago for christmas so i quess its time to buy a new one(razer destructor) anyway.
But sinced i got this, i never even thought about buying a new one (untill i found out about destructor, of course).
ps. but after that 2 years, it's still in a good shape enough to be used by someone else(i'll see if my brothers want it)
ps2. my old soft mousemat is a mat for my mug.

I agree with D_Sage44.
After a few months of gaming the center wears down and the mousepad becomes very different, it feels slower and not as smooth.
I still, am very happy with this as its really smooth, large, and the rest wrist is unbeatable, but dust gets on the corners, the rubber feet, very easily and if you try to clean it they will peel off after time.
I prefer the speed side (smooth) even though I'm a low sensitivity gamer, purely of opinion which side though.
Overall, I love the feel, size, and the wrist rest of this, I can play 8-9 hours without getting any pain in my wrist, usually I wouldn't last 3 hours. The only problem I have is the wearing down, if you buy a gaming mousepad, you should know that it will go the distance, but it wears down quite quickly, although I do have a tendency to game a lot :P
Anyway, another awesome product by razer, enjoy =)

I ended up giving this away after I got my Destructor. The mouse pad looks really nice all in all. But after heavy use I did come to find some things to complain about. Namely the metal border, it can tend to scrape your wrist at times, and is generally cold to rest on at first. The rubber feet get dusty/dirty and the pad tends to slip around after awhile. The rubber feet always started to peel off after awhile, when cleaning them or whatever. The mouse pad is also kind of loud when moving the mouse around. Go with the Destructor.

The Razer eXactMat has turned out to be a great mouse mat for me. I had this sitting at home for me with the purchase of my Lanchesis. I turned on the mouse and set it up then tried it on both sides of the mat to see what felt good to me.
About 4-5 months down the line all I can say is the purchase of these two products together was great, the eXactMat's Control side really addeds extra detection to my mouse which is already on Max, I am a high sensitivity gamer and I would suggest this to anyone looking for a mouse mat who isn't sure what they want.
I have experienced no issues with it asside from the common laser/infra red mouse that if something gets into the path between the mouse and surface it doesn't move, but that is no fault of the mouse or mat.
I have not given this mat a 5 star only because I have not used enough high end mouse mats to give it the est comparison, but I probably never will now that I own this.

Good feel and i loved the speed side of the mouse, control not a fan of but thats opinion, the rigid structure is nice keeps it in place, reason i give it 3 is because after 2-3 months of using the speed side it wore in the center down. Now i feel the mouse slow down over that patch and i need to get me a new pad.

Overall a great mouse pad, just one problem tho... I seem to be experiencing some sort of "Twitching" when using the mousepad with my Lachesis. Would be grateful for any help. Anyways a GREAT pad!
