The Razer Hammerhead In-Ear Headphones are in-ear monitors (IEM) engineered from the ground up to set the standard in portable gaming audio. Machined out of aircraft grade aluminum, the Razer Hammerhead embodies ultimate durability packaged in a lightweight, comfortable form factor.

Encased within each sleek, brushed shell is a high performance, precision-tuned 9mm neodymium driver. Paired with an optimized inner acoustics chamber in each shell, these in-ear monitors produce a sound signature that packs a mean, earth-shattering bass while maintaining crystal clear mids and highs. The Razer Hammerhead comes through with a full-bodied low-end frequency, pounding in the beats without distortion.

What are ear tips and bi-flanges?
The Razer Hammerhead’s silicon ear-tips are designed to fit snugly into your ear to keep music in your ear and at the same time keep external noise out. Included in the packaging are ear-tips in 3 different sizes to ensure that you have the perfect fit for you Razer Hammerhead earphones.

Also included are bi-flanged ear-tips that add even more comfort and sound isolation through an additional silicon flap. A bi-flanged ear-tip creates a second layer of sealing, providing better sound isolation and fit over regular single-flap ear-tips.

What is Surround Sound?


Surround Sound describes the method of channelling sound that envelops the user in a 360 degree arc, positioning sound sources accurately in relation to the user. This is especially useful in multiplayer first person shooters where proper sound placement can help you identify friends, foes and situations within the environment. Audio devices produce two types of surround sound: Discrete or virtual.



Discrete


Using multiple speakers in a system or multiple audio drivers in each ear cup of the headset, positioned at different angles, discrete surround sound lets gamers hear audio in realistic 3-dimensions as they would in real life.

Discrete surround sound makes for immersive gameplay as it accurately represents how your character perceives the audio of the game world.

Virtual


Virtual surround sound can be found primarily in headphones that use only two drivers and complex audio processing algorithms to simulate the effect of having multiple audio drivers.

These headsets utilize internal or external amps and software engines to divide surround sound audio into distinct, separate segments, effectively reproducing a surround sound spectrum with just 2 drivers.
